On 8-23-2012 Stations 40, 54, 89 the USCG and Trooper 2 were dispatched to a missing canoe with 2 POB’s off the beach front in Bowers. 40-M- 1 was underway in 9 minutes and arrived on scene with the canoe and its passengers in another 10 minutes. Apparently the novice boaters did not understand the strength of the tidal flow of the Delaware Bay and it carried them halfway to Kitts Hummock. 40-M-1 took the passengers and their canoe on board and transported them back to Bowers. Thanks to all the Mutual aid company’s for their assistance in this rescue.
