On Saturday, December 10th, Bowers Fire Company held their annual Christmas and Awards Banquet. There were at total of 210 members and guests that attended. We invited neighboring companies along with Representatives from State and County organizations. The meal was prepared by Richard Madden with help from our members. To serve the meal we had help from Townsend Fire Company and Aux along with Little Creek Fire Co and Auxiliary. Entertainment was provided by Mike Warren "Just Kidding Around" and a good time was had by all. Awards were given out in appreciation of all the hard work put forth by our membership during the past year. For the Ladies the following awards were given out: Outstanding Junior Member - Taylor Yanero, Most Active - Shirley Pennington, Most Outstanding Active - Angela Dorey, Most Bingo Kitchen - Lorraine Madden, Jennine Dobry Award - Greg Frank, Mabel Shockley Award - Jane Frank, Lorraine T. Moyer Award - Shirley Pennington. For the men: Top Responder - Danny Birdwell, Most Active - Shirley Pennington, Leon Shahan Memorial Award - Charlie Foraker, John H. Williams Memorial - Adam Warner, Outstanding Member - Jeff Morris, Top Third Person for EMS - Stephanie Wales, Top Driver EMS - Phil Pennington, Top EMT - Shirley Pennington, Heroic Efforts Award - Donald Foraker and Special Marine Recovery Efforts - Jeff Morris and Louden Robertson.
